Funny Video: Catcher Loses Ball in his own glove
And add to the emotional thoughts that are going through Alvin Yorke's head play by Gary Cooper, it's Really cool to watch as dog follow him up to the ledge and LAY Down and as soon as Gary Cooper gets up the dog gets up and it's Really a great piece of cinematic history.
The ultimate “stolen valor”. York was honored because they wanted a propaganda hero.
York was a righteous Christian.
Such poor gun handling, the barrels keep pointing at everyone.
What is the name of this tv show weekly series?
My Top 5 movie of all-time. I can watch it over and over.
Man.of horone.sgt.hance
I've been tryin' not to make any trouble. Wise advice. If you join the Army get what you can and go.
This applies today
" That's no rookie. That's Buffalo Bill ". My favorite line in the movie.
'all men defend the rights of one man, each man to defend the rights of all men' is an attitude that needs to be preserved in this time of global authoritatianism, each time any government anywhere in the world abolished democracy by destroying the freedom of the press, assembly, speech, independent judiciary, etc or by gerrymandering or other fraud we are all less free, these ideas seep in from all of these doubters of democracy and liberty. Countries like China and Russia want to create doubts about democracy everywhere in the world and are using their cronies to seed those doubts to further their own agendas
When I was 8 or 9 I read a WWI book and asked Grandpop (Infantry Sgt 78th Division WIA x3) if he ever saw York and he explained that he was in a different division - A little later listening to him talk to my parents I learned that he did see officers but I didn't really know who they were at the time - Some guys named Patton and MacArthur - Oh how I wish I'd have asked more about them - lol
Such a great movie
Freedom for all men? In those days? Only freedom for European Americans, not for Native Americans or African Americans.
Alvin York chose Gary Cooper to play him because he figured he was the closest to being him
From the country ..what a gun !!
This was a MAJOR PHYS. RECRUITMENT FILM, PERFECT PROPAGANDA FILM TO INDUCE ALL AMERICANS TO JOIN THE WAR
Is for the white people they still are line
Do you know a country by our forefathers by our forefathers? I was one that was in the military other people like me were in the military for somebody like Trump to come along and dodged the grass because he claimed he had wrong with his feet and he wants to be president, that you think about what he did the last time when he was in the White House
Gobble gobble, you gotta see the movie
A government dance together when people come together to make the government be the government that it is today when somebody like Trump comes along and tries to Terric down
we should all strive to be more like york in the military. i have troops that can't even name Thomas Jefferson as the author of the Deceleration of Independence
If you ever get the chance to see this on the silver screen, do it. Great movie.
Sgt York and the IRS , 😡😡
That's true. It's still there though. They'll see it one day.
York GOING TO hit everything
This is going to be good
One of the greatest movies ever made. Loved it.
❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤ THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE MY HERO
Everyone should watch this great movie to understand freedom, God, liberty and Country...especially politicians.
He was great shot was Sgt York.
I dont live far from where he and Gracie his wife is buried. I visited his home which is a bout 25 minutes away from my home. A true hero
Sgt. York is one of my all-time favorite movie.
Trump has called York and all men like him "losers & suckers".
I love these old movies
This here riflegun shoots mighty well. Note: turkeys do not fly, but Alvin York is a WW1 and Tennessee hero.
Wild turkeys actually do fly. No matter what they say in WKRP.
@@neilkurzman4907 wild turkeys cannot achieve actual flight, however like chickens they can glide. We had an old dead cedar tree on a hill. The chickens would jump from branch to branch to roost each night. In the morning, they would launch themselves into the air and glide to the valley below. In the movie about Alvin York, he mentions hunting "turkeys" flying in formation like ducks or geese. An error in the movie. Turkeys cannot fly and do not migrate.
@@larrygrant-hy8sk Whatever reason there are now wild turkeys in my suburban area. When I first saw them, they look like turkeys, but I said hey turkeys can’t fly. But turns out they flew away. As far as them flying information, I didn’t take notice. I was too busy trying to deal with the fact that WKRP and my eyes were in disagreement.
The supply guy casually flagging everyone with each rifle he pulls out of the crate.
hail hyddraa!
WW 1. Propaganda! Tha war to end all wars? Beginning of the world take over!
Religion was his only fault. Damn fine man otherwise.
Great movie
Who was there that day/ I would love to hear from you.
Howdy from Rockhampton Queensland Australia. Great movie.
SargentvYork was the spirt of American.
Sgt York was and has been one of the greatest movies of all time. As a kid born in the deep south I always admired any true story of a person that was born there and patterned their life to do their best to do the right thing by their fellow man. I will find myself a copy of this dvd and show my grandbabies what kind of people my side of their family comes from. It may not be all that entertaining as much as the newer, fancy movies and stories with all their CG and AI illustrations but they're alot more true and honest. At least thats how I see it and want to pass down to my younger parts of my family
At 3:48 I can hear the music for the British National Anthem. At that time the British and its empire were fighting for freedom, or so we were told. Britain and its empire were fighting for freedom again some 20 years later. Fortunately America eventually joined in when things were desperate and freedom won out. We don't have an empire any more. We do not have freedom anymore either. Britain has lost its freedom now. We do not have freedom of speech any more and we do not have freedom of thought either. My father's generation and his father's generation went through hell for our freedoms. They would be spinning in the graves at how desperate things have become here in Britain and no one to help save us🇬🇧
The power of propaganda. Dr. Goebbels couldn't have done better.
Two comments. #1. Back in the early 60’s my dad bought an 03 Springfield from Montgomery Wards, after he got it clean, he took his youngest brother and myself to a shooting range and fired his rifle, then my uncle shot it and he held his thumb up behind the bolt just like “Pusher”, with the same result, a thumb in the eye. #2. What they don’t show is that after you wet your thumb, you get it dirty and then rub it over the tip of the front sight, what this does is keep any light from obscuring the edges of the sight so you can align the sights better. Now what you do is use a carbide lamp lamp and “smoke” the front sight to cut glare.
Sergeant York must be one of the finest films of all time.
